Research on the legal literacy of Latvia’s population

“Berg Research,” in cooperation with “Latvijas Vēstnesis,” has carried out the first-ever study in Latvia assessing the public’s self-evaluation of their legal literacy. The majority of Latvia’s residents believe they are well informed about their rights – most think that information about rights is easy to find, yet state institutions’ information is difficult to understand. The study provides important insight into society’s understanding of rights, highlighting the need to improve communication by state institutions and the accessibility of legal information.
